Helen asks…
For all of you college students trying to stay fit?..?
I was wondering how do you college kids keep the weight off during school semesters. I am in college and it’s so hard for me to keep weight off while in school due to overwhelming stress, anxiety, and depression. When i’m stressed while in school I pick unhealthy foods, drinks, and I don’t workout like i’m suppose to if any at all. How do you guys do it? Oh and working out in the morning before school isn’t really an option for me, so other then that what else? Where do you fit exercise in?
Joy answers:
If you start exercising and eating healthy then it tends to become habit.
Usually, I’ll do some morning or evening exercising that includes jogging around campus, pushups, situps, stretching, etc. I’m skinny as it is, so I don’t have to do any weight loss exercises, just toning.
When you walk into the caf, think about that exercise you did and how good it made you feel to be healthy. Grab a salad and a turkey sandwich. Skip the grease, you’ll feel better about it. Drink water or gatorade.
If I’m feeling stressed sometimes I’ll just do some quick exercises to distract myself and give myself a little confidence boost. I may sound like an exercise junky from these suggestions, but I assure you, it hardly takes up any time of my day and it’s fun!
